A Walk With Bogo
Bogo hops down the stairs,
While I carefully walk.
When I want to go left,
Towards what remains of today’s sun,
Bogo tugs us toward the right
Where night has begun.
Pulling on his leash, I try to convince him,
“It's dark over there,
Let’s avoid it as long as we can.”
As if to answer, my boy looks back,
Bright black eyes full of unfound confidence
And a mischievous smile to match.
In my mind’s ear, he says to me,
“It’s gonna outrun us anyways,
And you’ll be grabbed from the back.
Might as well charge into it —
A thrilling adventure for you and me.”
The next thing I know,
He is already leading the way ૮⍝• ᴥ •⍝ა
